Christmas Came Early: Waco Woman Gets Free HVAC

December 2025 - In Waco, Texas, something truly special happened this holiday season thanks to the compassion and generosity of Heating + Air Paramedics owners Clint and Laura Smith and their dedicated team.

For years, 84-year-old Lenora Harrison lived in her home without a functioning heating or air conditioning system, enduring sweltering summers and freezing winters without climate control. Despite creative methods to stay comfortable, like using space heaters, ovens, or staying with family, her living situation remained unsafe and uncomfortable for far too long.

When Repairs Weren't Enough, Hearts Stepped In

Lenora's family first reached out to Heating + Air Paramedics to repair her old system. Unfortunately, the unit was in such poor condition that repairs only provided temporary relief. Seeing her struggle and knowing her age and vulnerability, Clint Smith refused to let her continue living without proper climate control.

Rather than walking away, Clint rallied support. He partnered with manufacturers Ferguson and Friedrich, who generously donated a brand-new HVAC system at no cost.

"They donated you not only a heater but an air conditioner. You are getting a brand-new Friedrich heating and air conditioning unit," Clint told Lenora.

Community Support Beyond Installation

But the story didn't stop with donated equipment. Members of the community also pitched in:

  • J's Grab and Go Catering provided breakfast and lunch for the installation crew and Lenora's family.

  • Bowen Electric offered to repair wiring at no charge, ensuring the new system could be safely installed.

More Than Just HVAC, It's About People First

This isn't merely a story about installing heating and air conditioning; it's about community, dignity, and serving others with heart. Clint and Laura's leadership shows what it means to live out the paramedic spirit, not just fixing equipment but showing up when your neighbors need you most.

Lenora's reaction says it all: "I'm so happy, thank God… Now I can be happy."

Christmas Came Early in Waco

With her new system in place just in time for winter, Lenora will finally experience comfort and safety in her own home, a true reminder that service and kindness change lives.
